Ivy Corridor Performing Arts Center
Charlottesville, Virginia

Nextstage Design collaborated with DumontJanks and AMS on needs assessment and concept design for a new performing arts center at the University of Virginia. The arts center is a proposed component of the Ivy Corridor, a 14-acre development linking Central Grounds with North Grounds. We interviewed stakeholders, analyzed current activities and facilities, and prepared and refined alternative building programs for the new arts center. We then developed massing and stacking models for four different sites within the Ivy corridor.
