The Linde Center for Music and Learning at Tanglewood Learning Institute is an all-season three-building complex which houses two small ensemble studios as well as a large performance space. The maple-lined space looks out on a 100-year old oak tree, with windows that open up to the landscape in good weather. The performance spaces are designed to facilitate all that the BSO has to offer from concerts to banquets, screenings, lectures, master classes, and rehearsals.

Architect William Rawn explains his design sprang from the “intensity and formality” and the “democratic spirit” of Tanglewood. The BSO’s CEO Mark Volpe notes the space embodies the “gestalt of music, nature, and pedagogy” inherent to TLI’s mission. The performance space possesses flexibility and a strong sense of place. We’re proud to have played a part in its design.
